Quite the little throwdown going on in the comments of Johnny_Mango's Albloggerque right now. I wonder who the rabble-rouser is? Oh yeah, that's me. ;-)

It's nice to see Miguel Gomez is taking his cues from the Griego campaign: if you don't like your opponents, sue to get them off the ballot!

Gomez knows his only chance of reelection happens if opponent Ken Sanchez isn't listed on the ballot. Sanchez has been asked by a lot of people in District 1 to run because Gomez is such a clown. Sanchez could announce his run the day before the election and I'll bet he'd club Miguel like a baby seal.

Will Gomez's suit work? We'll see. (I think it's interesting that the private investigator in the case was named Eric Griego, no relation of course to the mayoral candidate... yeah... right...)

And speaking of lawsuits, will we get to see Eric Griego's file suit against Juan Jose Pena to keep him off of the District 3 ballot? Not damn likely.

Heard back from UNM today, apparently they are saying that I have a loan in default for a while. Some loan from NM Tech that I haven't known about for years. So now I'm back in college limbo, waiting to see how I'm going to afford going to college this semester and finally getting my degree.

F'ing NMT, f'ing financial aid. I have to give it to NMT Financial aid, they've done something I didn't think was possible, make me regret ever going to Socorro.

Woo Hoo!

Feh, turned 32 this week. Good lord is this what it feels like?? *clutches chest and collapses* Well, you're only as old as the woman you're feeling, as Groucho Marx said (G-Marx, what a dirty old man) ;-)

Wait, I promised a picture of Chano-Dog! And here she is, waiting for me to either feed her, walk her or give her a tummy rub!

What a shock!

I'm shocked, shocked I say to find out that Eric Griego is trying his best to get Espinosa off of the mayoral ballot! I'm surprised it took this long for him to act. (maybe he's trying to be kinder and gentler).

Anyone familiar with the allegations around Heinrich's election to the city council knows this is a standard Soltari and Griego tactic. Get your opponents taken off of the ballot or marginalized, regardless of whether they agree with you or not on the issues, because nothing is more important than winning elections (you can always make friends later). At least it's nice to see one progressive group take the Republican slash-and-burn technique and use it.

But will it backfire this time? I'd love to see Espinosa run as a write-in candidate, but I don't know if she's got that kind of mean streak. With Judy gone, I wonder who I'll vote for now.
